What to do when your Apple link inside your digital planner isn’t working?
We added a new feature to our planners, you guessed it! We added links to Apple Calendar and Google Calendar!
Apple calendar links and Google links embedded into our spreads will enable to you add an event or reminder to your calendar without leaving your planner. If you already have a planner that has Apple links inside, but it isn’t working for you, it probably is because you haven’t installed the shortcut!
Enable private sharing
Before we can install the shortcut, you must enable private sharing. In order to do this, go to your settings on your device (iPhone or iPad) > shortcuts> enable private sharing (you can turn this off once its installed). Once that is enabled you are ready to install the shortcut.
Install the shortcut
The All is Well Collective short cut is located on the second page of our planner. The page with the cute thank you note and picture of myself with an introduction (photo credit: Malerie Veillon https://www.maleriev.com/) If you are having trouble locating it, you can click on the three dots on the upper right hand side and select go to page, page 2. You can also go to the four squares in the upper left hand side of the page and scroll all the way to the beginning, page 2. Lastly, the way I always do it, is click on the home button that’s on every page of the planner and swipe right once. :) Click on the large box labeled Apple Calendar Link Shortcut. It will ask you if you want to launch an external application, select yes. Once its installed, you can turn the private sharing back off if you prefer. I promise it’s safe for to use, the link you are using is something that I created at my house on my iPad that tells the link exactly what it should do once it is clicked. This is what your Thank you/Intro page will look like, the shortcut link is circled in red!
Not our planner, can’t find your shortcut?
If you have a planner from another creator, they should have sent you the link when you purchased your planner with them. Some places that you can check are either inside the planner if they have an introduction page, or a link in an instruction PDF file that you received with your purchase or download. If you’ve checked these places and still can’t find it, I would reach out to the creator or shop and ask them where its located because they should have it somewhere for you to install :)
Note: when you click on the Apple or Google calendar links they will as you every time if you want to launch an external application to handle the link, the answer is yes! As of now there is no workaround, it will ask you every time.
End the Chaos, Happy Planning!!!
