Have you wondered what the hype is surrounding digital planners? Are you curious about digital planners and how they work? At first glance, digital planners may seem really overwhelming and super techy, but they’re actually simple and user friendly. In this blog post, i will go over all things digital planning and what you need to be able to use them. I will cover:
What is a digital planner?
What do you need to be able to use a digital planner?
Which annotation app is best (in my opinion)?
How to navigate through AIW digital planner?
What planners are included?
What else is included in this bundle? Stickers & Covers, Oh my!
What is a digital planner?
Digital planners are basically a PDF document with hyperlinks throughout that allow you to easily navigate through the planner. Most planners that have many options, daily, monthly, and weekly layouts will have hundreds or thousands of hyperlinks. The hyperlinks are invisible links to other pages. For example, from any page you can click on a monthly tab and it will take you to whichever month you selected.
What do you need to be able to use a digital planner?
In order to use a digital planner, you will have to have an Ipad or Android device and compatible stylist for writing. I use an iPad pro and 2nd generation Apple pencil. You will also have to download an annotation app such as Goodnotes, Notability, Noteful, or Xodo (android users). The Goodnotes app has a one time charge of $29.99 or you can choose to pay annually $9.99. (Important note: Goodnotes will not enable hyperlinks on Android, it will not work properly.) Notability is around $14.99 annually for the paid version. Noteful is $4.99 to unlock Noteful pro for lifetime. Xodo is $107.99 for the year or $11.99 a month to unlock Xodo Pro features.
Which annotation app is best?
Now which one should you choose? They each have a free version that you can download and try out. I would definitely recommend checking them out and seeing which features you enjoy and will use the most. I personally have used them all and while I did find that Noteful and Notability did have a feature that Goodnotes did not, I still prefer and recommend Goodnotes to my friends and my customers. Here’s why: Goodnotes is overall the best and most user friendly application for digital planning.
How to navigate through AIW digital planner?
The All is Well Collective digital planner has a year at a glance home screen which you can get to by selecting the HOME tab at the top of the planner. From the Year at a glance screen you can get to any week or daily layout that you’d like with just one tap. There is a monthly page for each month, weekly page for each week, and daily page for each day. From each you can go back to the weekly layout and you can always go to a month from any page. Below you can see how to navigate from the Monthly view, weekly view, the daily layout, Year at a glance (home) and the Notebooks. You can see the hyperlinks are circled in red or gray to show you how easy it is to navigate around the planner.
